1. Introduction

This policy describes how Samares et Sablier s.a. collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when using the L’Entailleur application.

We comply with applicable laws in Quebec and Canada, including Law 25 and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information collected

Depending on your use of the application, we may collect:

Identification information

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Unique identifier associated with your account

Authentication data

  • Information transmitted through Google Sign-In
  • Information transmitted through Sign in with Apple

Usage data

  • Technical logs
  • Device information
  • Performance and stability data

Operational data

  • Data voluntarily entered in the application
  • Information related to feature usage
  • Registers, inventories, equipment, lots, maps, historical records, and production information
  • Photos, imported files, generated exports, and data transmitted by compatible devices when those features are used

Location and GPS data

  • GPS positions entered, recorded, or authorized by the user
  • Lot boundaries, lines, map points, and related elevation data when map or GPS features are used

Payment and subscription data

  • Subscription status, transaction identifiers, and metadata required to validate the subscription
  • Full payment card information is not stored by L’Entailleur

We only collect information necessary to operate the service.

3. Purposes of collection

Information is used to:

  1. Create and manage your account
  2. Enable secure authentication
  3. Provide features offered by the application
  4. Improve performance and stability
  5. Respond to support requests

4. Hosting and service providers

Data is hosted on Firebase infrastructure (Google Cloud).

Some data may be hosted outside Canada.

The main external providers used, depending on the features, are:

  1. Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, and stability reports
  2. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple for authentication
  3. Google Maps for map display
  4. Stripe for web payments
  5. App Store and Google Play for subscriptions purchased on mobile
  6. Environment and Climate Change Canada for certain weather data used in degree-day features
  7. Open-Meteo for certain elevation data used by GPS and map tools

We limit access to information to only the people and services necessary to operate the application.

5. Cookies and tracking

The public L’Entailleur website does not use advertising cookies or analytics tracking cookies.

The web application may use technical browser mechanisms necessary for authentication, session management, payment, or security, provided in particular by Firebase, Google, Apple, or Stripe when those features are used.

6. Data retention

Information is retained:

  1. As long as your account is active
  2. For the duration required to comply with legal obligations
  3. Until your account is deleted

Some information, especially data related to tax, accounting, or contractual obligations, may be retained for the minimum period required by law.

7. Account deletion

You may request account deletion by contacting us.

Deletion leads to erasure of associated data, subject to applicable legal obligations.

8. Data access, export, and recovery

You may request access to your personal information and business data.

The application provides exports for certain data, including registers. For a more complete recovery request, you may contact us.

If Samares et Sablier s.a. were to stop operating L’Entailleur, we would take reasonable steps to inform affected users and allow them to recover their data in a reasonably usable format, subject to applicable technical and legal constraints.

9. Security

We implement reasonable measures to protect your information:

  1. Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS)
  2. Restricted access controls
  3. Secure hosting through Google Cloud
  4. Access to business data limited to authorized members and explicitly enabled support accounts
  5. Firebase access rules and server-side controls for sensitive functions

10. Your rights

Under applicable laws, you may:

  1. Request access to your personal information
  2. Request correction of inaccurate information
  3. Request deletion of your data
  4. Withdraw your consent where applicable
